When I stumbled onto my spiritual journey, I was at rock bottom. I’d had two heart attacks in a week. I was grieving from losing my baby at 9 weeks. I was struggling to accept that I would never have children. My job as a screenwriter was stressful and pressurised, in a culture of bullying and control. I was so busy working that I was slipping away from my family and friends. And that was just the pain I was conscious of. There was also the buried grief of losing my father to cancer and the unacknowledged trauma of growing up during the Troubles.
